The management of coastal zones requires increasingly complex technical knowledge in order to guarantee the sustainability of its resources.. The planning of uses and resources is, therefore, a responsibility shared by public administrations, port authorities, consultants, construction companies, R&D Centers and Universities.

The Spanish Conference on Coastal and Port Engineering that is held from 1992 they will be biennially, bring together the best experts, national and international universities, administrations and companies, in which topics of maximum interest are addressed through Presentations and Poster Sessions, related to port infrastructures and the management and protection of the coast.
