One of the difficulties in the successful implementation of the floating breakwater is suitably dimensioned size and fixation in order to be effective in their task of damping waves and moreover able to withstand the stresses to which they will be subjected.
While there are some theoretical calculation models can be deduced that the transmission coefficient depending on the characteristics of the incident wave ( wave height and period of the same ), their application in real life is very limited due to the large number of variables that do not involve.
